Lee Roy Poe

Lee Roy Poe, 88, of Monette, passed away Dec. 26, 2012, in

Jonesboro. He was born Feb. 10, 1924, in Monette to the late Clarence Lee and Altha A. Foster Poe. He was a farmer his whole life and a member of Rowe's Chapel Baptist Church for over 52 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to fish and garden.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Helen J. Austin-Poe; a son, Roger Poe and wife Terri; a daughter, Jane Goodman and husband, Bob, all of Monette; granddaughter, Denell Poe and great-grandsons, Zachary Ryan

Poe and Zander Lee Poe, all of Paragould; a sister, Edna Beardsley of Flint, Mich.; three half brothers and two half sisters as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and family.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Rowe's

Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Taber and Rev. Glenn Hoselton officiating. Interment followed in Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Bill Davenport, Michael Adams, Heath Wallace, Tony Austin, Bill Strickland and Larry Sanders. Honorary Pallbearers were Robert Banks, John Houchin and Robert Chambers.
