Mrs. Esther Perkins, 91, of the Cole Ridge and Hightower Community, and widow of Dude Perkins, passed from this life Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. She was born in Omaha, Neb., to Venito and Maria Sanchez Alegro. After marrying her husband Dude, they relocated to the Hightower Community. Mrs. Perkins was a homemaker, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, and a devoted Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Doris Velasquez and Alice Salazar.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Alice Perkins-Gilbow and her husband, Randy, of Dell;

A son, Russell Dude Perkins of the home;

Three grandchildren, Heidi Moody-Rogers and husband, Tim, of Alamo, Tenn., Trent Moody and wife, Sarah Leigh, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Ryan Price of Blytheville;

Four great-grandchildren, Jensyn and Jaidyn Rogers of Alamo, Smith and Collins Moody of Mt. Pleasant; and

Her best friend, Dixie, her beloved Boston Terrier.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Dogwood Cemetery with Deacon Ken Klingler officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. until service time Monday at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville.
