Mrs. Pansy Frances Wilson, 87, of Leachville, the widow of Mr. Delmar Gene Wilson, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Mandy Hamblin Newberry and was a Leachville resident since 1945.

She was a 1941 graduate of Harrisburg High School and received her LPN Nursing certification in 1964.

Over the years, she worked for Dr. Thomas Flannigan in Leachville, Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola, the Buffalo Island Community Hospital in Manila and Dr. Bruce Wilson of Manila.

She was an accomplished seamstress and an avid dancer at the Senior Citizen Dance Club in Paragould. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the First Baptist Church in Leachville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Edmond Newberry, Grady Newberry, Troy Newberry, Noel Newberry and Cecil Newberry.

She leaves behind her son, Barry Lynn Wilson of Pine Bluff;

Her daughter, Carol Jane "CJ" Wilson of Marion;

Two grandchildren, Dr. Bruce Wilson and his wife, Karla, of Manila and Emily James and her husband, Rick Sampson, of Monette;

Four great-grandchildren, Zack Wilson, Brittani Wilson, Erin James and Morgan James; and

Her sister-in-law, Phyllis Kennett of Leachville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. An online register is available at www.howardfuneralservice.com
