Mrs. Wanda L. Shackowsky 79 of Tampa, Fla., passed away June 19, 2012. She was born Nov. 9, 1932 in Booth Point, Tenn. She met her husband George in Blytheville, and together with their son John they eventually moved to Tampa in 1962. Wanda was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. While her children were growing up, Wanda participated in many activities with them and was involved in several organizations.

In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, many parents turned to Wanda for their child-care needs. Wanda provided loving care to many children in her home throughout the years. Wanda was also a very proud grandma who always spoke highly of each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved showing off pictures of them and telling of their latest accomplishments.

Wanda also loved her church family. She was a faithful member of Palma Ceia Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Attending church brought her much joy, and she rarely missed a service while she was healthy. We all love her very much and she will be deeply

missed.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, George (Shack) Shackowsky.

She is survived by her children, John Shackowsky of Tampa, Joan Baldwin and her husband, Steve, of O'Fallon, Ill., Janet Piazza and her husband, Mark, of Safety Harbor, Fla., and James Shackowsky and his wife, Justine, of Tampa;

Seven grandchildren, Jordan, Nathan, Benjamin, Aaron, Maddy,

Ryan, Lexi, Nathaniel;

Two great-grandchildren, Riley and Savannah; and

Her sister, Shirley, and her husband Gaylord of Augusta, Ga.

Mabry Hwy., from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and the service will be at Palma Ceia

Baptist Church at 3511 W Bay to Bay Blvd. at 10 a.m. Monday.
