Mrs. Shirley Rose Henry, 71, of Blytheville, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at her home in Blytheville.

She was born in Tyronza, the daughter of Henry and Lillian McComb Johnson. She came to Blytheville as a child. She was a member of True Light Missionary Baptist Church where she worked with the Youth Department and choir.

She attended Harrison High School. She married Winsley Henry Sr. and they were stationed in Georgia and South Dakota. Her hobby was sewing -- she made robes for her church and uniforms for her daughters when the were cheerleaders at East Junior and Blytheville High School. She sewed for others as well. She was a cashier and greeter for K-Mart and a kitchen worker for Mississippi County EOC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Richie Lee, Freddie and Ruth and three brothers, Handley, Henry Jr. and Walter.

Survivors include her husband, Winsley Sr. of the home;

Five daughters, Mrs. Beverly (and Rev. Ronald) Young, Dr. Ronda (and Robert) Henry-Tillman and Mrs. Catina (and Gary) Dawson, all of Little Rock, and Mrs. Carolyn (and Stanley) Davis of Grand Prarie, Texas, and Ms. Karen Henry of Blytheville;

One son, Winsley Henry Jr. of Blytheville;

Fourteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and

Nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 E. McHaney, Rev. Odale Jones, pastor. Rev. Ronald Young will be the eulogist. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 S. Lilly St., Rev. Jay Slaughter, pastor.
