Mr. Billy G. White, was born Oct. 28, 1928, to James and Birdie Polk White in Mexia. He was a fun loving and vibrant person who loved the Lord, and singing and praising God. He spent over 50 years of his life as a devoted professional Gospel singer, well known throughout the world. He was honored by the American Gospel Quartet Convention on May 7, 2011, as a legendary gospel singer.

He began his journey to a new life April 2, 2012, at the age of 83. He will be truly missed as he makes his journey without his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 32 years, Della White of Blytheville;

Three sons, Darryl and Hugh Lynn White of Rochester, and Arranda White of St. Roberts;

Three daughters, Byrtina White of Jackson, Olaeti White of Atlanta and Andrea Childs of Blytheville;

His sister, Earlene Lofton of Chicago;

A sister he took in as his own, Johnnie Whitaker;

Three special nieces, Evelyn Gilmore of Springdale, Nita Smith of Oakland, and Carol White of Blytheville;

Two godsons, George Jones and Ricky Logan;

One special brother, Jr. (and Elaine) Wright of Blytheville;

His group, The True Gospel Wright Singers of Blytheville, Lionne, Zaccarra, Percy and Shondrea Write, Joseph and Yevete Chapman, Willie and Aaron Johnson of Kennett, and Kevin Clayborn of Hayti; and

A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Eternal Salvation Church at 1 p.m. Saturday.
