Bettye Taylor Dexter

Mrs. Bettye Taylor Dexter, 78, passed from this life Sunday, April 1, 2012, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Dexter was born in Tyronza to Garland Cicero Taylor and Amanda Blanche Zeek Taylor. She attended Arkansas public schools and Hendrix College and worked at Hale and Bowen Insurance Company in Osceola from 1963-1973 before moving to Little Rock to work for New Hampshire Life Insurance Company. It was in Little Rock where she met her husband, John Dexter. After their marriage they resided in Magnolia until moving to Blytheville in 2001.

Bettye was a faithful and loving daughter and wife, a thoughtful and caring aunt, and a loyal friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; a brother, Zeek Taylor; and a sister, Willyne Taylor Carter.

Mrs. Dexter leaves two nieces, Linda Carter (and Clint) Butler, Rhonda (and Richard) Spain;

A nephew, Zeek Taylor;

A great-niece, Jill Butler Hightower; and

A great-nephew, Carter Butler.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Magnolia City Cemetery in Magnolia with Lewis Funeral Home in charge. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
