Mrs. Jean Todd, 88, of Blytheville, passed from this life Monday, March 26, 2012, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born in Des Arc to Elmer and Pearl Green Lively, she was a World War II veteran, having served her country in the United States Navy.

Jean was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as chairman of the Bereavement Committee, she also served as co-chairman of the Evangelism and Membership Committee, Path Finders Sunday School Class, U.M.W., past Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed reading and cooking. She often made her specialty, "chicken and dumplings" for church activities and for shut-ins. Jean also enjoyed visiting the nursing home.

She was a devoted wife for 65 years and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who devoted her life to the service of her faith in Christ and love for her family and friends and honor of her country.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles "Chuck" Lively.

She leaves her husband, Ralph Todd of the home;

Her children, Janna and Gary McWilliams and Vickie and Ricky Cross, both of Fort Smith;

Her grandchildren, Todd and Libbie McWilliams, Robin and Brian Owens, Christy and Laurencio Rodriguez, Richie Cross, Tiffany and Taylor Backus;

Her great-grandchildren, Zachary McWilliams, Bennett Backus and Clayton Backus;

A sister, Lorene Ballowe of Fort Smith; and

A sister-in-law, Delores "Bitsi" Lively of Overland Park, Kan.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at 1st United Methodist Church with Mr. Allen Bush and the Rev. Don Hall officiating. A short visitation will follow the Memorial Service. Burial will be private. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
