Mrs. Ivory Wilson, 92, of Chicago, formerly of Osceola, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago.

Ivory Lois Adams Wilson was the second daughter of Henry and Willie Adams, and was born Nov. 9, 1919, in McNabb, Ark.

Educated in McNabb during her formative years, she graduated high school from the Howard County Training School in Tollette, Ark., later receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas A&M and N. College in Pine Bluff. Ivory taught elementary school in Carson Lake for many years. Subsequently, Ivory became certified in Library Science after completing course work at the University of Arkansas in Jonesboro. She worked as a librarian at Eastside Elementary School in Osceola until her retirement.

Ivory was devoted to Christianity and became a member of the Baptist church at an early age, later joining the CME church following her marriage. Ivory loved teaching Sunday School and was an active member of Carter Temple CME Church in Blytheville until she relocated to Chicago in 2008. She continued to support her "home church" financially and spiritually until her passing.

Among her other joys in this life were fishing, crocheting, gardening, watching her favorite soap opera, solving crossword puzzles, sharing stories about her family and friends and caring for her watchful dog, Sumo.

To God be the glory, our beloved was a devoted wife to her late husband, Henry Franklin Wilson, until he departed this life Nov. 10, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Mable Shipp, Luetishia "Pell" Pierce Madison and Juanita Walker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory two lovingly devoted daughters, Frankie Jean Wilson and Joan Edith Wilson-Epps;

Two blessed grandchildren, Henry Wilson-Epps and Ivory Wilson-Epps,

Loving nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grandnieces;

Former students, her church family, and many dear friends.
