Ronald Edward "Ron" Ballard

Mr. Ronald Edward "Ron" Ballard, 72, of Russellville, Ark., passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at his home. Born at Manila he was the son of the late W.E. and Cora Leah Jackson Ballard. Mr. Balland was a 1958 graduate of Manila High School and earned a degree in education from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He had lived in Russellville for the past 36 years, was a retired school teacher and formerly with Entergy Corp. Mr. Ballard served in the U.S. Army and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Balland was preceded in death by his sisters, Dee Castleman, Juanita Scott and Sue Thomas.

Survivors include a son, Ron Ballard, Jr., and his wife Robin of Russellville; a brother, Harold Ballard of Cordova, Tenn.; a sister, Barbara Pierce, and her husband Joe Dean Pierce of Manila; two granddaughters, Maegan Ballard and Breckyn Ballard, and a grandson, Colin Ballard.

Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Manila Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Pentecost officiating. Interment was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family received visitors at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service.
