Mrs. Gladys McDay, 85, of Osceola, died Feb. 29, 2012, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born at Lula, Miss., the daughter of James and Fannie Jenkins Poston. She came to this area about 1932 and lived in the Victoria community. She attended Mississippi County Community College (now Arkansas Northeastern College), and was an employee of American Greetings and the Osceola School District. She was a devoted and dedicated member of Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ. She was a member of the Mothers Board.

Survivors include her husband, Turner McDay of Osceola;

Three daughters, Mrs. Lowstein (Charles) Gallegos of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Mary Alice (Samuel) Collins of Osceola, and Mrs. Vera (Timothy) Talley of Luxora;

Four sons, James (Leslie) McDay of Toledo, Ohio, Patrick (Rebecca) England and Anthony (Edith) McDay, all of Osceola, and Glen (Sandra) McDay of Blytheville;

Two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Hall of East Williamson, N.Y., and Mrs. Mattie Smith of Los Angeles;

A brother, R.V. (Stella) Poston of Long Beach, Calif; and

Eighteen grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Promiseland Church of God In Christ, South Highway 61, Osceola. Elder Michael Hooks will officiate. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Whiteside Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ in Luxora.
