Mr. Linwood Daniel Lewis, 91, of Blytheville, passed from this life, Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Born in Henderson, N.C., to P.E. and Effie Lewis, Linwood proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was employed with AT&T for 43 years as a switchman. Linwood's love of sports led him to KLCN radio station, where he broadcast sporting events for the Blytheville Chickasaws for football and basketball games. He was an avid golfer and served as past teacher for the Sr. High Fellowship Group at First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Head Lewis; a sister, Maxine Willard; and step-daughter, Marsha Boyette.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Richardson Lewis, of the home;

A son, Linwood Lewis Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Winston-Salem, N.C.;

A brother, E.G. Lewis and his wife, Jewell, of Henderson, .NC.; and

Two grandsons, Swain Lewis and Bradley Lewis and his wife, Emily.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Steve Baillio officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
