Thelma E. Fowler, 85, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at the Craighead County Nursing Center. She had lived in Jonesboro since 1987, moving here from Blytheville. She was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church. Thelma was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pruitt Elwood Fowler; and one grandson.

Survivors include five sons, Terry Fowler, Charles "Sonny" Fowler, Scott Fowler and Paul Fowler, all of Jonesboro, and Don Fowler of Little Rock;

Two daughters, Glenna Lambert and Susan Carter-Riggs, both of Jonesboro;

One sister, Juanita Pinkston of Russellville;

Fourteen grandchildren, Gina Wilson, Lisa Oppenheim, Brock Lambert, Michelle Fowler, Melanie Hotchkiss, Keith Carter, Kacey Carter, Kendra Kirkland, Brian Fowler, Chris Fowler, Noah Fowler, Ethan Fowler, Madison Fowler and Keegan Fowler; and

Seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Sarah Oppenheim, Anna Oppenheim, Riley Carter, Molli Fowler and Macy Fowler.

A memorial service was held at 11 today at the First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro with the Rev. John Miles and the Rev. Patty Soward officiating. Emerson Funeral Home was in charge of services. Burial will be private with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation was from 5-7 Monday at Emerson Funeral Home.
