Mr. Charlie Wayne Purcell, 75, of Leachville, passed from this life, Sunday Feb. 5, 2012, at his home. Born in the Happy Corner Community near Leachville, he was the son of the late Francis E. and Willie Maude Barnes Purcell and had been a lifelong Leachville area resident. He was a 1956 graduate of Leachville High School and served six years in the National Guard. Charlie was a retired service technician for the former Littrell-Ozier Ford Company in Blytheville and was a longtime member, and active board member, of the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Bonnie White Purcell of the home;

One daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ron Moad of Leachville;

One brother, James Purcell and his wife, Ovetta, of Sorrento, Fla.;

Three sisters, Mavis Lowe of Flint, Mich., Rosa Shirley of Topeka, Kan., and Myrtle Ritchey of Georgia; and

Three grandchildren, Joshua Nettles of North Carolina, Veronica "R.J." Moad of Leachville and Robert Selah and his wife, Sequoia, of Hawaii.

Funeral servicse will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell with the Rev. Mark McMinn and the Rev. Jim Dement officiating. Burial will follow in Cardwell Cemetery.
