Mrs. Thelma Jackson, 84, longtime Leachville resident, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at the Gosnell Nursing Center. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Eugene and Gladys Basinger and had been a longtime Leachville resident before making her home in Gosnell last year. Mrs. Jackson was a retired field representative for the EEOC and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Leachville.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers; one sister; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.

She leaves three sons, Jerry Jackson of Gosnell, Larry Jackson of Marion

and Steve Jackson of Hot Springs;

One daughter, Joy Brimhall of Leachville;

One brother, Gene Harrell of Holland, Mich.; and

Two sisters, Lavinia Lunsford and Melba Anderson, both of Finnville, Mich.;

Mrs. Jackson also leaves 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with the Rev. Lee Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
