Mr. Thomas Julian Mitchell, of Burdette, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, after a prolonged illness.

Julian was preceded in death by his parents, Roy L Mitchell and Rebecca Thompson Mitchell of Blytheville; his son, Gary L. Mitchell; a step-son, Dewayne Beaver; and two brothers, Eugene and Dallas Mitchell.

Julian leaves his wife of 34 years, Geraldine Pearson Mitchell;

His daughters and son-in-laws, Donna and Chuck Dickerson and Rhonda and Barkley Epperson of Chattanooga, Tenn.;

A step-daughter, Renee Murrell of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.;

Two brothers, John Haskin Mitchell of Blytheville and Kenneth Mitchell of Tichnor, Ark.;

Two sisters, Mildred Bruschi of Ringgold, Ga., and Elizabeth West Warren of Blytheville; and

Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Julian was an usher and dedicated member of Beacon Baptist Church until his illness. He was a devoted fisherman and quail hunter. Julian was a truck driver for approximately 42 years. While the world has lost one, heaven has gained another angel.

The funeral will be at held at 2 Sunday at Carney Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Carney Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Condolences can be made at www.carneyfuneralhome.com
