Freddie Cleveland McKemie

Freddie Cleveland McKemie, 91, of Manila, died early Friday, Jan. 6, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Manila, he was the son of the late John William and Viola Bishop McKemie and lived much of his life in Blytheville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was the former owner of M&M Motors in Blytheville. He was a longtime member of the Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

He leaves two sons, Micah McKemie and

Jonathon McKemie, both of Blytheville; and

Seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. Paul Lawrence officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Zangreal McKemie, Micah McKemie, Jr., Scott Davis, Edward Whitfield, Ronnie David, and Don VanDyke.
