Mrs. Mary L. Huffman, 77, of the Huffman Community, passed from this life Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at her home.

Born in Caledonia, Miss., to P.E. and Ollie Mae Edwards Bowen, she was a member of Mary's Chapel Baptist Church and retired from ACCO. Mary loved to quilt and sew and work in her garden. She enjoyed cooking and canning, but most of all, she enjoyed the special times she spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Murvin Huffman; and brothers Billy Bowen and Kenneth Bowen.

She is survived by her children, Rodney Huffman and wife, Gloria, of Dyersburg, Tenn., Connie Smith and her husband, Jim, of Blytheville;

A step-daughter, Brenda Combs and her husband, Roger, of Hindman, Ky.; A brother, James Bowen of Michigan City, Ind.;

Three sisters, Myrtie Howington of Paragould, Charlotte Allison of Tyronza, and Leta Bowen of Truman;

Five grandchildren, Blaine Huffman, Ryan Huffman, Alana Lovins, Jay Smith and Jeffrey Smith;

A great-grandchild, Ava Cate Smith;

A step-grandchild, Selina Hall; and

A step great-grandchild, Braxton Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence Gibbons officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Cobb Funeral Home. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com.
