Mrs. Dorothy Alee Dabney, 91, of Gilmore, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis. Born Feb. 11, 1920, to the late Clarence and Emma Parker, she was a homemaker and a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a part of the Mother Board.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Dabney Sr.; two daughters, Esther Coleman and Emma Williams; one son, Lawrence Dabney; and four brothers, Clarence Parker, Julius Parker, Otis Parker and Thadeus Parker.

Mrs. Dabney leaves two daughters, Betty Miles of Jonesboro and Dorothy Benson of Gilmore;

Three sons, Ira Dabney Sr. of Blytheville, Carl Dabney of Memphis and Lonnie Dabney Jr. of Memphis;

Five sisters, Bernice Neal of Osceola, Lucille Smith of Blytheville, Louise Wicks of St. Louis, Emma Jean of Chicago and Beatrice Wyrick of Phoenix, Ariz.;

Two brothers, Judge Parker of Blytheville and Findley Parker of Chicago; and

Twenty-three grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funreral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Union Grove MB Church in Gilmore with the Rev. Anthony James officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza.
