Effie M. Huey

Mrs. Effie M. Huey, 93, of Blytheville, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Born in Hickman to Carl Randolph and Mary Cecil Adkisson, she was a retired desk clerk for Fairfield Communities and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Effie loved to can food that she grew in her garden, enjoyed quilting and was adored by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert Wesley Huey; a son, William Ray Huey; an infant son, Steve Wesley Huey; a daughter, Barbara Ann Wright; a sister, Annie Stewart; two grandchildren, Randy Garner and Sandy Garner Cook; and agreat-grandson, Richard Bell.

She leaves her son, Charles Garner and wife, Ruth, of Blytheville;

A daughter-in-law, Eileen Huey of Memphis;

Seven grandchildren;

Fourteen great grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Marks officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10 am until service time. Online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
