Mr. Mozell Buckner, 59, of Blytheville, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Blytheville, the son of Will and Essie Smith Buckner. He was a graduate of Harrison High School and a Marine Corp Veteran. As a child, he attended True Light Missionary Baptist Church.

His parents; a son, Thaddeus; and a sister, Dorothy, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Helen;

Four sisters Mrs. Jessie Marquz of Las Vegas, Nev., Ms. Willa Buckner of Lansing, Mich., Mrs. Mattie Davis of Milwaukee, Wis., and Ms. Mahasin Sharif of Allentown, Pa.;

One brother, Jerry (and Belita) Buckner of Lansing, Mich.;

A step-daughter, Princess; and

Many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at True Light Missionary Baptist Church at 1100 Lilly St. in Blytheville with the Rev. Jay Slaughter, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at McDonald-Horne Funeral Home in Blytheville.
