Terry Ramsey, 63, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at his residence. He was born Sept. 24, 1948, to Camille Mangrum Ramsey and the late Elvin Ramsey. He was a resident of Manila until 1992 when he moved to Caraway. He graduated from Manila High School in 1966 and received a bachelor of science degree in education from Arkansas State University in 1971. He was a retired high school science teacher with most of his 26 year career in the Gosnell Public Schools. He was also a cotton scout for area farmers from 1968 until 2000 and a BASF representative for approximately seven years. He was a member of the Black Oak Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Farley Ramsey of the home; his mother, Camille Ramsey of Lake Charles, La.; three siblings, Connie Blankenship (Eddie) of Lake Charles, Raychene Michaels (Ken) of Woodsboro, Md., and Barry Mangrum of Chicago; three daughters, Cody Elliott (Matt) of Greenville, Ala., Heather Crum (Eric) of Jonesboro and Laurel Hatch (Brooks) of Caraway; six grandchildren, Caison and Luke Elliott, Emerald and Ramsey Crum and Easton and Brooklyn Hatch; his caregivers, Jim and Patty Watson of Monette and Madeline Horne of Lepanto.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at the Caraway Cemetery with Rick Stevens officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Caraway.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, the Wounded Warrior Project or the Children's House at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md.
