Pinkie Bates Thomas

Mrs. Pinkie Bates Thomas, 95, of Blytheville, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, in her home. Born Feb. 23, 1916, in Jonesboro, she was a retired beautician and a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glasper Bates and Leona Smith Dudley; her husband, Clay Thomas; and three sisters, Gladys Bates, Zelma Colby, and Marion Cheers.

Mrs. Thomas leaves one daughter, Sandra (and Kenneth) King of Blytheville;

One son, Clay Thomas Jr. of Idaho Falls, Idaho;

Three grandchildren, Bryant King of Lawrenceville, and Clay Thomas III and Danielle Thomas of Idaho Falls; and

One great-grandchild, Kennedy Michelle King of Lawrenceville.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Lawrence Echols, will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
