Mrs. Vestle Taylor Starnes, 93, of Raymond, Miss., formerly of Blytheville, passed from this life Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, Miss.

Born in Greene County to the late Ralph Hubert and Lela Jane Roberts Taylor, she was a homemaker who loved being surrounded by her family. She enjoyed cooking and doing her own canning and was a member of the Main and 13th Street Church of Christ . She was a former beautician and a retired teacher's aide with the Blytheville Public School System.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Von K. Starnes; a daughter, Dorothy Jacqueline Starnes; four brothers, Champ, Chester, Bob and George Taylor; and three sisters, Lorene and Martha Taylor and Imogene Hyzdu.
She leaves her children, Jane Starnes Allen and her husband, Pat, of Tupelo, Miss., Becky Starnes Daniels and her husband, Bruce, of Blytheville, and Greg Starnes and his wife, Leah, of Clinton, Miss.;

Three brothers, David Taylor and Jim Taylor of Minden, La., and Otis Taylor of Maryland;

Two sisters, Lucille Taylor of Paragould and Virginia Lowe of Little Rock;

Five grandsons, Scott Allen of Bakersfield, Calif., Ronny Allen of Tupelo, Miss., Danny Daniels of Atlanta, Bryce Daniels of Auburn, Ala., and Reed Starnes of Clinton, Miss.; and

Seven great-grandchildren, Tiana Allen of Tupelo, Miss., Cody Allen of Bakersfield, Calif., Caleb Daniels, Leighton Daniels, Palmer Daniels and Emerson Daniels, all of Auburn, Ala., and Trey Daniels of Atlanta.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Duane Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. in Linwood Cemetery in Paragould. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice.
