Mr. Jodie Hood Jr., affectionately known as "Cool Cat" to his friends, died recently. He was born Dec. 10, 1935, to Jodie and Carry (Brook) Hood Sr., in Joiner.

He accepted Christ at an early age and continued his services in the church until he was taken ill.

Jodie worked at Hough Bakeries in Cleveland, Ohio, for over 40 years. In his spare time he liked to fish, he loved his bass guitar and most of all he enjoyed communicating through his CB.

His soul was anchored in the Lord as a member of 1st Community Missionary Church for many years where he served faithfully singing praises to the Lord.

He leaves to cherish his life one son, Larry Hood (and Rhea) of Atlanta, Ga.;

One daughter, Gwendolyn Johnson of Cleveland, Ohio;

Six grandchildren, Kelsey, Kyle and Kaylon Hood, Duane, Myreecia and Doraycia Johnson;

One great-grandchild, Joseph; and

Two very special friends, Joseph Williams and James McCulley, along with other family and friends, especially his McDonald friends.

A graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Hope Cemetery in Yarbro.
