Mrs. Margaret Nadine Malloy, 83, of West Memphis, formerly of Leachville, the widow of Mr. R.W. "Dub" Malloy, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at Broadway Healthcare in West Memphis. Born Aug. 8, 1928, in Leachville, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and LuAnn Sissom Looney and had been a lifelong Leachville resident before making her home in West Memphis five years ago.

Anytime you spoke the name of Mrs. Malloy the automatic comments were, "She loved to teach and committed her life to teaching. She started the first kindergarten program in Leachville and taught in that program as well as first grade for 34 years until retiring in 1994. Her love for teaching was evident even in death. She donated her body to the Genesis Research and Teaching Institute for Practicing Physicians in Memphis. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Erroll Malloy; three brothers; and one sister.

She leaves two daughters, Robin Malloy Houseworth and her husband, Donald, of Blytheville, and Melissa Malloy Pierce and her husband, Dr. Trent Pierce, of West Memphis

A daughter-in-law, Gayle Hout Malloy of Clarksdale, Miss.; and

Eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Leachville with the Rev. David Beigle officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. until service time at the church. The family has requested memorials be made to the East Elementary Library, C/O Buffalo Island Central, P.O.
