Louie Ray Wadley

Mr. Louie Ray Wadley, 85, of Manila, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at his home. Born in Alicia, Mr. Wadley was the son of the late Joe "Huck" and Bertha Mae Williams Wadley and had been a lifelong Manila resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and Korea where he received a Purple Heart and two Bronze Service Stars. Mr. Wadley was a member of the American Legion Post No. 197 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Pierce Wadley in January 2011.

He leaves three daughters, Linda Walker of Knob, Sarah Wadley of Manila and Regina Riley of Rector;

One sister, Martha Gilbert of Westwego, La.; and

Six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family will receive visitors Thursday morning from 11 a.m. until service time.
