Post office potholes need to be fixed

Thursday, July 21, 2011

To the editor:

In a recent letter to the editor, I read that a post office in our area might be closing. I have been by hundreds of post offices in Arkansas and many other states in recent years, and many of them are either new or refurbished. I also understand that in many cases, the buildings are owned by private citizens.

`From the looks of the Blytheville facility and especially the parking lot, I would come to the conclusion that we might soon lose our post office. I usually go by the outside drop box on a daily basis. I hope that someone doesn't break an axle or ruin a tire by just hitting the enormous potholes all over the parking lot. It is a disgrace to our city.

My hope is that no facility has to close. I would hope that one of your reporters might find out who owns the property in Blytheville and how we can get it fixed up to par.
