Support, donations made relay for life a success
To the editor:
The 2011 Relay for Life honoring our county's cancer survivors was a rousing success due to the unselfish support and donations of the following: Cobb Funeral Home for the celebratory balloons and water; Sue Lawrence for delicious cake; and all the Relay teams who gave gifts to each of the cancer survivors who attended the walk.
A special thanks goes to Gail Farrow, event chair, and her committee for their tireless dedication to the Relay.
Thanks also go to the Nucor scholarship recipients for helping in the Survivor Tent.
Over 70 survivors participated this year in the Surivors Lap, to the cheers of their friends and families. We thank all who came and participated in this event that helps to provide funds for the research that will one day eliminate cancer.
