Mrs. Lizzie Barnes, age 76, of Monette, passed from this life Saturday, June 11, 2011, at her home. Born at Lepanto, she was the daughter of the late Elvin and Bertha Black King and had lived most of her life in Leachville. She was the widow of Mr. J.L. Barnes and was a retired babysitter. Mrs. Barnes was of the Baptist Faith and had lived in Monette for the past four years.

Survivors include four sons, James Brasfield of Paragould, Billie Brasfield of Monette, Bobby Brasfield of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Clifford Brasfield of Los Angeles, Calif.; four daughters, Bertha Ray of Monette, Mary Goad of Bradford, Shirley Payton of Paragould, and Donna Barnes of Paragould; eight sisters,

Vinetta Maness of Jonesboro, Daisy Kelley of Searcy, Mary Evans of Batesville, Jessie King of Lepanto, Nadine Ballard of Leachville, Alise Tyler of Lepanto, Shirley Presley of St. Louis, Mo., Sue Peveley of Pocahontas; She also leaves seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.
