Olibia Woodward

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

Mr. Olibia Woodward, 70, of Paragould, our Dad and our Mother's first love, went to be with our Lord on May 19, 2011, at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Woodward was born Feb. 18, 1941, in Memphis, Tenn., to the late John and Violet Woodward. Mr. Woodward was of the Baptist faith and taught us all to love God first, do an honest day's work, and there was good in everyone you just had to look hard to find it in some people.

Those of us who will miss him greatly include his wife of 51 years, Florence Woodward of the home; two sons, Olibuel "Woody" Woodward and wife Tiney of Newport, Ark., and James Woodward and wife Tina of Brookland; two daughters, Melissa Steele and husband Bret of Illinois and Sheryl Woodward of the home; one sister, Jeanine Spence of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Those greeting him in Heaven include his parents; three brothers, Laverne, Leslie and James Woodward; a sister, Alline Davis, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Johnson.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Clarks Chapel Baptist Church, Highway 351, Paragould, with the Rev. Freddie Muse officiating. Interment followed at Clarks Chapel Cemetery with Faith Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. The family received visitors at the church from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. May 23.
