More than 200 enjoyed Kiwanis Fishing Rodeo

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

To the editor:

The Kiwanis Club had another successful fishing rodeo. We are very thankful for all the parents and grandparents for bringing the 200-plus young people to fish Saturday. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission stocked the pond with catfish especially for this event.

The Kiwanis Club would like to thank Mayor James Sanders, the Blytheville Courier News for all their coverage, Public Works Superintendent Rick Mosley and Parks Superintendent Robert Bailey, who had the park and pond looking great. In addition, thanks to the Blytheville Emergency Squad for being a part of our rodeo as the members worked very hard weighing in all the fish.

In closing, we would like to give a big "thank you" to Bill Kenner for sponsoring the $100 tagged fish, which was caught by Daniel Razer.

Thanks Blytheville!
