Mrs. Gladys Louise Oakes, 87, of Lepanto, died Saturdy, May 7, 2011, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born March 15, 1924, in Benton County, Miss., to Emily and Eva Brimingham.

She was a retired factory worker and a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Carroll's Corner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond Oakes; one daughter, Tonnie Oakes; three sisters, Flora Maness, Grace Pullen and Pearlene Morgan; and by four brothers, Esceso Brimingham, Cleston Brimingham, Johnny Brimingham and Ed Brimingham.

She leaves two daughters, Olean Tennal of St. Louis and Melvy (and Dennis) Russell of Carroll's Corner;

Four sons, Dean (and Mae) Brimingham of Olive Branch, Miss., Raymond (and Janie) Oakes of Lepanto, Lamar (and Mary Joyce) Lakes and Tommy Oakes, all of Denwood;

Four sisters, Sylvia Guidry of Suplher, La., Sophie Ballard of Marked Tree, Inee Lunsford of West Memphis and Oneeda Crawford of Little Rock;

Three brothers, Try Brimingham of Covington, Ga., Ezra Brimingham of McHenry, Miss., and Vee Brimingham of Topeka, Kan.; and

Fourteen grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Carroll's Corner with Mark Willbanks officiating. Burial will follow in Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto.

Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Carroll's Corner.

The family requests any memorials be made to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Carroll's Corner.
