Mrs. Nancy C. Spencer, 93, of Blytheville, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at her home.

She was born in LaGrange, Ark., the daughter of George Campbell and Mrs. Annie Broaden Campbell, on Nov. 28, 1917.

She moved from Wilson to Blytheville in 1937. She lived in the Armorel community for many years and was a member of New St. Paul Baptist Church. She had served as an usher, a member of the Missionary Society and the Mothers' Board, and was one of the oldest living members of New St. Paul, beginning in the days of St. Paul at Barfield.

She had worked as a part time cook for the Armorel School District.

Mrs. Spencer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Spencer Sr.; five sisters, Bertha, Victoria, Vivian, Izona and Annette; four brothers, Lurenza, LuJames, Lee Edward and Jessie; two daughters, Matilda and Lorain; and two sons, George and David.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Louise Williams and her husband, Rev. Charles, and Mrs. Jerlean Lewis and her husband, Fessor, all of Blytheville;

Five sons, Willie L. Spencer Jr. and Robert L. Spencer, both of Blytheville, Lee Edward Spencer of Detroit, Eugene Spencer of Benton Harbor, Mich., and Roy L. Spencer of Austin, Texas;

Two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Island of Chicago and Mrs. Josie Williams and her husband, Roy, of Benton Harbor;

Fifty-five grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren; many great-great and great-great-great-grandchildren; and

Many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at New St. Paul Baptist Church, 515 E. Sawyer St., Blytheville, with the Rev. Clark Phillips, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, which is in charge of funeral arrangements.
