Genester 'Mrs. Bea' Jones

Mrs. Genester "Mrs. Bea"Jones, 83, of Blytheville, died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis.

She was born in Osceola, the daughter of the Rev. Benjamin and Mrs. Margaret Sloan Wilburn. Her parents, her sisters, Naomi and Mary, and brothers Jonathan Walton and James, preceded her in death.

She moved away and returned to Blytheville in 1990 from Florida. Upon her return, she joined First Missionary Baptist Church and served as a member of the Mothers' Board.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Artic Rainey and her husband, Derries, of Little Rock, and Mrs. Catherine Satchell of St. Louis;

Two sons, Ovett Jones and his wife, Maureen, of the Bronx, N.Y., and George Monger Jr. of Homestead, Fla.;

Two sisters, Mrs. Emma Townsend and her husband, Freddie, of St. Louis, and Mrs. Ida Russell of Blytheville;

A brother, Robert L. Wilburn Sr. and his wife, Faye, of Colorado Springs, Col.;

Two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Vernita Walton of Steele and Mrs. Claudia Walton of Michigan City, Ind.;

Eleven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and

Nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at First MB Church, 600 E. McHaney, in Blytheville. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church where the Rev. Odale Jones is pastor. Burial will be in Whiteside Gardens Cemetery in Osceola with arrangements by McDonald-Horne Funeral Home of Blytheville.
