Ruthie Bell Evans

Long-time Blytheville resident Ruthie Bell Evans passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, in Chicago, from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Helena.

Mrs. Evans was married for 48 years to the late Rev. Thomas Evans.

Her youngest son, Mark Evans preceded her in death.

She leaves her children, Ollie Allen, Ruthie Watkins, and Patricia Evans Barnett of Chicago, Thomas Evans Jr. of San Diego, Calif., and Barbara Evans of Beaumont, Texas.

She was the grandmother of fourteen, great-grandmother of twenty-eight, and great-great-grandmother of five. She was a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Progressive Baptist Church.
