Donald Ray Blocker, 68, of Conway, formerly of Leachville died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at his home. Born in Arbyrd, Mo., he was the son of the late Lawrence Jack and Eva Dee Coburn Blocker and was a former Leachville resident where he was employed by Brown shoe Company. He had also worked for Frolic Footwear in Jonesboro and Russellville, and retired as Plant manager with Munro Footwear in Mount Ida. He had served in the Arkansas Army National Guard and had been a Conway resident since October 2010.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Burgin.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Mae Robbins Blocker of the home; his son, Donald Keith Blocker and his wife, Shawn of Conway; his daughter Connie Spears and her husband Sam of Conway; a brother, James Blocker of Rineyville, Ky.; three sisters, Edith Wachter of Huntsville, Ala., Carolyn Klocke of Hartford, Ill., and Darlene Hetler of Leachville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 24, in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. David Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Caleb Blocker, Chris Blocker, Kyle Blocker, Jonathan Spears, Wade Gathright and Weslan Colbert.

The family will receive visitors Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
