Miss Lillie McDermott, 81, of Blytheville, passed from this life Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at St Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro. Born in Blytheville to Parvin and Callie Suggs McDermott, she was a retired supervisor of the Arkansas Employment Security Division Office, where she worked for 34 years. She was a member of the Main and 13th Street Church of Christ and a member of International Association of Employment Security Personnel, Arkansas State Employee Association and a Red Cross Volunteer. She loved reading, crossword puzzles and eating 3 Musketeers or anything chocolate. Mrs. McDermott was an individual whose love and devotion to her family and friends went far beyond measure.

Her parents; brother, J.D. McDermott; and a sister, Pauline McDermott, preceded her in death.

Although Mrs. McDermott never had children of her own, she had three great-nieces, Michele Campbell of Jacksonville, Fla., Lisa Parnell and Zack Henley of Blytheville, and Tammy and Alan Taylor of Evansville, Ind., and was considered "Grandma to Billy Parnell, Courtney Parnell McHalffey, Chris Houseworth, Kalah Taylor Pierce and Josh Taylor; "Great Grandma" to Haven Parnell, Austin McHalffey, Graceland Hammock and Jaxon Taylor; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine McDermott of North Stonnington, Conn.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Duane Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be e-mailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net
