Mr. Don Tims, 59, of Cooter, Mo., passed from this life Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at his home. Born in Blytheville to Lee Roy and Wanda Rose Carmichael Tims, he was a member of the Tyler Church of God and a retired farmer. Mr. Tims was a person born out of his time. He would have made a perfect cowboy from his cowboy hat and boots to his love for horse riding and raising cattle. He also enjoyed fishing, making sausage and having his family around him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joyce Crosskno; his best friend, Jamie Smith; and his first wife, Betty Northcutt Tims.

Don and Debra Murphy Tims were married Aug. 8, 1997, in Blytheville, and had had almost 14 years wonderful years together.

He leaves his children, Don Tims Jr. and wife, Candyce, of Huffman, and Katie Murphy-Tims of the home;

Two sisters, Shelia and Benny Rhoads of Nixa, Mo., and Vickie Stubblefield of Harrisburg;

Four grandchildren, Lee Roy, Grady Heayron, Jo Anna and Elisha Jackson Tims, all of Huffman;

A Godchild, Laela Isabella Threadgill of the home; and

A host of friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with the Rev. Jason Anderson and Don Tims Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Number 8 Cemetery near Cooter. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be e-mailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net
