Why we are going broke

To the editor:

I recently received an e-mail which included information written by Dr. Sabastian J. Ciancio, M.D. urologist, Danville Polyclinic in Illinois. Ciancci wrote that he was speaking to an ER physician, who said that he told him that a women in her 20s came to the ER with her eighth pregnancy. She stated, "My momma told me that I am the breadwinner for the family." He asked her to explain. She said that she can make babies and babies get money for the family. The scam goes like this: The grandmother called the Department of Child and Family Services and stated that the unemployed daughter is not caring for these children. DCFS agrees and states that the child or in this case children will need to go to foster care. The grandmother then "volunteers" to be the foster parent, and thus receives a check for $1500 per child, per month, in Illinois. Total yearly income of $144,000 tax-free dollars, not to mention free health care (Medicaid) plus a monthly card allowing her to free groceries, etc and a voucher for 250 free cell phone minutes per month. This does not even include WIC and other welfare programs. Grandma was correct in that her fertile daughter is the "breadwinner" for the family.

This is how the ruling class spends our tax dollars!

My family brought me up in this world to work hard ... and this I have done for over 40 years and I have to say that I for one am really tired of working hard so that people like this can continue to sit on their lower extremities and DO NOTHING! I cannot even make ends meet as it is within my own family much less supporting the likes of people like this! When is America going to wake up? Why do we allow this sort of thing to go on? After working for so many years, I for one cannot even afford to retire because I have to work hard so others can sit and do nothing! Babies having babies?

In 1995 Newt Gingrich said, "No society can survive, no civilization can survive, with 12-year-olds having babies, 15-year-olds killing each other, 17-year-olds dying of AIDS and 18-year-olds getting diplomas they can't read."

We are a society that has completely lost control and we have no one to blame but ourselves for allowing it to happen. Putting people in public office whose only concern is that of filling their own pockets. Laws need to be made and PASSED that will hold these people responsible and not just continue to pass out our hard working money on those that do not deserve it! Something has to be done because it has really gotten out of hand.

So the next time your pre-teen/teenage daughter or son comes home all excited because he/she is going to be the proud parent of a baby, ask them who is going to support it? Who is going to pay all the medical bills? Who is going to feed it? Who is going to clothe it? While your asking them, make sure that you are close to a mirror because the answer to your questions is looking right back at you, along with the rest of hard-working America. Makes me sick!
