Robert 'Bob' Andrew Slentz Sr.

Robert "Bob" Andrew Slentz Sr., 90, passed away at Magnified Nursing Home, College Station, Texas, Dec. 21, 2010.

Mr. Slentz was born in Springfield, Mo., Oct. 3, 1920. He worked in numerous jobs throughout his life. He was a pharmacy assistant, automobile service manager and owned and operated a gift shop at The Peabody Hotel in Memphis for many years. It was in Memphis where he was reacquainted with Dana Capehart whom he married. Dancing at the Peabody and the Summit Club was a favorite pastime for the two. Upon retirement, they moved to Westminster Village in Blytheville and lived there until the death of Dana to whom he was very caring and devoted. For the last seven years of his life, he lived with his son in College Station, Texas and visited with his daughter in San Antonio, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey A. Slentz II and Doris Dodson Slentz; two wives, Edith Hulett Slentz and Dana Capehart Slentz; a brother, Harvey Slentz; and sister, Doris Slentz.

He leaves one daughter, Susan Slentz Dean of San Antonio, Texas, and one son, Robert Slentz of College Station, Texas;

A granddaughter, Stacy Rine of Oklahoma City, Okla.;

A brother, Frank Slentz of Caruthersville, Mo.; and

Two sisters, Lydia Slentz and Mary Slentz Nielsen of Memphis.
