Robert "Snake" Pendleton Jr.

Mr. Robert "Snake" Pendleton Jr., 72, of Osceola, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, in Jonesboro.

Born in Driver in 1938, he worked for the sanitation department in Osceola and was a Deacon and usher at Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Pendleton Sr., and Mary Alice Ford; one daughter, Veronica Maria Pendleton; one sister, Willie Mae Rutherford; and one brother, James "Heavy" Littleton.

He leaves his wife, Essie Pendleton of Osceola;

Four daughters, Lorrie Pendleton, Mary Ann Cooper and Crystal Lashawn, all of Osceola, and Latasha Burns Haywood of Memphis;

Two sons, Kim Robert Pendleton of Osceola and Reggie Coker of Memphis;

Seven sisters, Jean Pendleton and Peggy McNeal, both of Stockton, Calif., Mary Ann Littleton of St. Louis, Sarah Adams of West Memphis, and Jane Bell, Deloris Littleton and Sharon Reed, all of Osceola;

Five brothers, Charles "Sloppy" Littleton, Donald Littleton and Roosevelt Littleton, all of Osceola, and Andrew Littleton of Benton Harbor, Mich.; and

Eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greater Macedonia M.B. Church in Wilson with Pastor Bryant Whitted officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Wilson.
