Charles Ray Smith

Charles Ray Smith, 73, of Leachville, died Aug. 10, 2010, at his home after a brave battle with cancer. Mr. Smith was born Jan. 25, 1937, at Buckeye to the late Charlie Joshua and Mary Francise Smith. Mr. Smith was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jeroline Smith of Leachville; five daughters, Barbara Skaggs of Blytheville, Judy McCracken of Paragould, Mary Hill of Leachville, Ellie Denning of Oak Grove, and Cathy Smith of Paragould; a sister, Ruby Stone of Leachville; four granddaughters; a grandson and a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Carl Smith and Norman Smith, and three sisters, Lucille Lorren, Bertha Taylor and Maxine Huddleston.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Hornersville Cemetery, Hornersville, Mo., with Rev. David Powell officiating. Faith Funeral Service of Manila was in charge of arrangements.
