Donald Joe Staggs

Donald, Joe Staggs, 41, of Trumann, formerly of Caraway, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at his home. Born at Osceola, he was raised in Caraway and was a 1987 graduate of Riverside High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Persian Gulf War having served with the 101st Airborne Division. He was a brick mason and a member of the Caraway First Baptist Church and had been a Trumann resident for the past 13 years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Inez Staggs.

Survivors include a son, Mitchell Don Staggs of Lake City; a daughter, Ashley Jordon Staggs of Caraway; his mother, Shirley Ford and his step-father Larry Roach of Trumann.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery with Military Honors.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
