Ola Dee Castleman, 88 of Moore, Okla., the widow of Mr. Ell Castleman, formerly of Manila, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Manor Care Health Services in Midwest City, Okla. Born in Manila, she was the daughter of the late William Ervin and Cora Leah Jackson Ballard and had been a resident of Moore, Okla., since 1974. She was a 1941 graduate of Black Water High School near Manila, a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Moore, Okla.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Hedstrom; and two sisters, Juanita Scott and Sue Thomas.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip Castleman of Big Lake, Alaska and Kevin Bruce Castleman of Norman, Okla.; a daughter, Karen Angell of Ann Harbor, Mich.; two brothers, Harold Ballard of Memphis, Tenn., and Ronnie Ballard of Russsellville; a sister, Barbara Pierce and her husband, Joe Dean, of Manila; 10 grandchildren, Deidra Amon-Meitus, Elana Angell-Litvak, Brian Moore, Seven Moore, Joni Castleman, David Angell, Tera Castleman, Jackie Hand, Mary Hand, Angela Jensen; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 12, in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jerry Pentecost officiating. Burial followed in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
