Jackie Wayne Timms, 60, of Peru, Ind., formerly of Lake City, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, in Peru. Born at Monette, he was the son of the late Nolen John and Myrtle Eaton Timms. He was a 1968 graduate of Lake City High School and a member of Betharbra Baptist Church in Lake City. Mr. Timms was a retired auto worker for Chrysler Motors at Fenton, Mo., and Kokomo, Ind. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War having served two tours of duty in that war.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Dietrich Timms of the home; two sons, John Timms and Brian Timms, both of Peru; three brothers, Billy Timms of Santa Paula, Calif., Delbert Timms of Lake City, and Lonnie Timms of Bonne Terre, Mo.; five sisters, Margie Carter of Marmaduke, Shirley Knatcal of Festus, Mo., Patricia Winford, Brenda Stotts, and Wanda Beaty, all of Lake City; and one grandson, Braden Timms.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lake City First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Owens officiating. Burial was in Cain Island Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. The family received friends Wednesday evening at the church.
