Clarence Darrel Reese, 87, of Trumann, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at the family residence. He was born in Pryor, Mo., and had lived most of his life in Trumann. He was a retired service manager for the former Firestone and Goodyear Stores in Trumann, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served 17 months in Europe during World War II. He received an honorable discharge in 1946 and was a member of the First Christian Church in Trumann. His favorite past-time was fishing with his grandchildren and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Johnnie Fay Reese in 2001, two sisters, two brothers, and was the son of the late Elmer and Ruby Blunt Reese.

Survivors include three daughters, Polli Bibbs and husband, Dale, of Trumann, Pam Chipman and husband, Joe, of Manila, and Terri McCann and husband, LaRoy, of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Cindi Carter, Paul Rowlett, Scotty Watkins, Drew McCann, Kellan McCann; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Harp officiating. Burial was at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary Baldwin, Gerry Darr, Drew McCann, Paul Rowlett, David Carter, Bobby Condra, Robert "Bubba" Reese, and Brandon Williams.

The family extended their appreciation to Mary Shotts for her special care of their father.

The family received friends from 10 a.m. until noon on Friday at Thompson Funeral Home.
