Olzo Earl Green

Olzo Earl Green, 86, of Leachville, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Heber Springs, he was the son of the late Walter Cross and Allie Lee Dean Green and had lived most of his life in Northeast Arkansas. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed raising coon dogs, and spending time on the Mississippi River. He was retired from the former Brown Shoe Company and Arlee Manufacturing in Leachville.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude for the wonderful and loving care shown to Olzo by the Monette Manor Nursing Center and St. Bernards Medical Center. Olzo has fought a good fight and has kept the faith. His earthly journey has ended and he is enjoying the treasures laid up for him in Heaven.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Roberds Green in 1999, a sister, Viela Galloway, three brothers, Herman Green, Erman Green and Oliver Green.

He is survived by a son, James Green, and his wife Margaret of Waco, Texas; two granddaughters, four great-granddaughters, two great-great-grandsons and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. David Price officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery. The family received visitors Tuesday evening from 5:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
