Bobbie Jeane Oates Darr Brucks, 77, of Evening Shade, formerly of Blytheville, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. She was born July 7, 1932, in Manila to Richard Oates and Dovie Foresthye Oates. She lived most of her life in Monette and Manila and was a homemaker of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Kerry Darr; her first husband, Elvis Darr; and a sister, Joan Jones.

Mrs. Brucks leaves her husband, Earnest James "Dud" Brucks of Evening Shade; her mother, Dovie Oates of Manila; three daughters, Regina Dunkerson of Blytheville, Sharla Welch of Natchez, Miss., and Ellen Lea Mooney of Durango, Colo.; a stepson, Jim Brucks, and a stepdaughter, Belinda Moore, both of Blytheville; a brother, Neal Oates of Manila; a sister, Natalene Scott of Madison, Miss.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.

The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with the Rev. Barry Mooney officiating. Interment was in the Dogwood Mausoleum. The family received visitors from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
