Charles Augustus Adams, 32, of Leachville, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at his home. Born in Southaven, Mich., he was the son of Billy Joe Adams and Debra Adams Tate. He had been a longtime resident of Northeast Arkansas and was a carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Murphy Adams of Leachville; a son, Gage Adams of Kentucky; a stepdaughter, Danielle Warren of Valley View; parents, Billy Joe Adams of Thayer, Mo., Debra Tate, and stepfather Charles of Blue Springs, Miss.; two brothers, Billy Lee Adams of Lake City and Calvin Adams of Pine Bluff; two stepbrothers, Jeremy Tate of Ripley, Miss., and Jamie Tate of Ingomare, Miss.; two sisters, Jodie Crump of Jonesboro and Angela Goodman of Ash Flat; a stepsister, Jennifer Courtney of Blue Springs, Miss.; his favorite aunt, Tulula Cagle of Leachville; and a granddaughter, Cortney Warren.

The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Kevin Edgar officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery. The family received visitors Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers were Joel Burrow, Mitchell Slayton, Blake McFarlin, Buddy Carmichael, Derrick Floyd and Rick Slayton. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Dunlap, Chad Scott, Joshua Utley, Cody Utley, Heath Goodman and Corey Goodman.
